During this week long course children will be introduced to the “Scratch” programming environment and how to use it to talk to the Arduino board. They will interact with components such as Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as well as using sensors such as Light Dependent Resistors (LDRs) and potentiometers to control characters and objects in the programme.
They will be using S4A, which is a modified version of Scratch. By the end of the five days they will have learned how to program in Scratch and S4A at a beginner’s level, learnt how to make circuits on a breadboard and learnt how to use the Aduino board. The final output of the five days will be a game.
Children should bring a laptop with them to the course which has the S4A environment downloaded onto it. This can be found on the S4A website. Please email if you have any questions.
